Our groups are an informal and safe space for LGBT+ family of any shape, size and make up.

Maybe you’re new to the area and want to meet other LGBT+ families? Perhaps you are an LGBT+ parent and want to connect with others on the same journey? Maybe your sibling is LGBT+ and you want to learn more about how to support them? You could be considering fostering or adoption? Any members of any LGBT+ family are welcome to join the group session.

At each family session, we simply connect over coffee, cake and conversation. There are also optional activities for you to get involved in related to the theme of the month. This month, the theme is Pride Prep, getting you ready to celebrate the various Pride events across Derbyshire this summer. You can expect banner and flag making to take with you to the parade or keep at home, as well as activities to plan your own Pride celebrations, alongsdie learning about the history of Pride.

The groups are lead by qualified, experienced LGBT+ staff that are DBS checked, with active safeguarding procedures to protect attendees. You can meet our Families Worker who is hosting the session on our team page here.
