Derbyshire LGBT+ is the only LGBT+ specific support service in Derbyshire, established to provide comprehensive support to individuals who identify as LGBT+, or any other non-heteronormative sexual orientation or gender identity. This includes support for their families, friends, and allies.

Founded in 1983, Derbyshire LGBT+ has been a cornerstone for the LGBT+ community in Derbyshire for over 40 years. The organisation was created to address the unique challenges faced by LGBT+ individuals, including issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity, such as coming out, homelessness, violence, bullying, and harassment.

The primary mission of Derbyshire LGBT+ is to improve the health and emotional well-being of LGBT+ individuals in Derbyshire. We aim to be the leading provider of services that support and advocate for LGBT+ people, ensuring they receive the necessary emotional and practical support. The organisation also strives to be a voice for the LGBT+ community, promoting fairness, respect, empowerment, engagement, diversity, and openness.

Derbyshire LGBT+ offers a variety of services, including 2 community centres, one-to-one support, family services, youth groups, training, and sexual health resources. Our goal is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can achieve their full potential, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
